Qigong Exercises for Health & Healing
In Chinese medicine, the building blocks for creating vibrant health within yourself and applying techniques to heal others come from the same root: qigong. Qigong is a form of energetic, internal exercise, which gives you the capacity to govern the energy (known as chi in Chinese) and fluids (e.g., blood) flowing through your body.
More specifically, qigong is initially practiced to gain control over, develop and manipulate your life-force energy (chi) and internal functions of your body. Once you achieve a state of health and well-being within your own body, you can then apply the techniques you have embodied to help others heal from injury or illness.
At one level, qigong training is essentially about training yourself to become sensitive to subtleties. When you develop your ability to detect what is blocked in your own body, it can only increase your ability to do the same for your patient/client.
Furthermore, qigong can help you to release unwanted negative energy, protect yourself from taking on more than you can handle and replenish your energy when it’s low, and thereby upgrade your physical and/or energetic healing techniques.
Qigong exercise can be applied to any system for which you already practise or give you a practical means of healing and staying healthy. This is true for everyone—regardless of whether or not you work in the healthcare profession.
